ITINERARY

Day 1: Arrive Melbourne

Arrive City Beautiful Melbourne. Transfer through a seat reserved in a coach and check in the hotel. Overnight at the hotel.

Day 2: Melbourne City Tour / The Eureka Tower / The Penguin Parade Tour

After breakfast, proceed for a Melbourne City Tour. In the afternoon, proceed for a Philip island tour. Overnight at the hotel

The Penguin Parade Tour
THE TOUR
Every evening at dusk the Little Penguins come home from the sea at Phillip Island. From the waves across the beach to the sand dunes the Little Penguins can almost be touched as they waddle to their burrows. Sunset at Summerland Beach has drawn millions of visitors to Phillip Island. It is the nightly ritual of these little flightless birds which will enthrall you as you observe from the beach and the elevated boardwalk. Koalas totally Australian peering down from the gum trees where they live. Fat and furry, wet noses and a gentle smile of contented living on Phillip Island. Seals near the sea, basking in the late sunlight on halftide rocks compliment this island, rich in wildlife which makes Phillip Island a very special place. Tour highlights include Westernport Bay water birds and mangroves. Panoramic views of French Island. Enjoy a short introductory video The Little Penguin. San Remo maritime fishing village, look for birdlife at the island wetlands. Visit Churchill Island for afternoon tea (own expense). Opportunity to hand feed wallabies and kangaroos. Phillip Island Nature Park a natural home for koalas, seals, shearwaters and Little Penguins. Koala Conservation Centre, look for koalas in their natural habitat from tree top boardwalks. A dinner stop will be made before or after the Penguin Parade (dependent on season and at own expense). The Nobbies a rugged rocky outcrop Seal Rocks home to Australia's largest colony of fur seals. Witness the Penguin Parade on floodlit Summerland Beach from Penguins Plus premium viewing area for the best views of the Penguins. See penguin rookeries from an elevated boardwalk. Inspect the Visitors Centre, an opportunity to learn about the life of the Little Penguin. During your evening return to Melbourne, a panoramic Victorian video feature will be screened.

Day 3: Great Ocean Road & 12 Apostles Tour

THE TOUR

Enjoy panoramic views of the city and Port Phillip Bay as you cross the Westgate Bridge. At Bells Beach, stop to appreciate this world famous surfing break and to immerse yourself in a bit of the local surfing culture. Departing Bells, set out along the Great Ocean Road, as your experienced driver-guide provides an informative commentary about the road's history and its place in Australian folklore. The scenic journey along the Great Ocean Road is a highlight in itself. We make plenty of scenic stops, including a photo opportunity at the Great Ocean Road Memorial Arch at Eastern View. At Kennet River you will make a trip into the eucalyptus forest to locate some of the local koalas in their native habitat. The koala population here is particularly strong and numerous sightings are guaranteed. We then continue on towards our lunch stop in Apollo Bay with another photo stop at Cape Patten on the way. After lunch, follow the Great Ocean Road through the spectacular Otway Ranges, where there is a stop to enjoy a stroll in the cool temperate Rainforest. Learn a little about the world's tallest flowering trees and the ancient rainforest species. Then it is onwards to the Port Campbell National Park and its iconic rock formations. You will be awestruck by the majestic Twelve Apostles and the enchanting Loch Ard Gorge where 52 lives were lost and only 2 souls survived the wreck of the Loch Ard in 1878. The final sightseeing destination is the collapsed London Bridge, where two holiday makers were stranded when the first arch collapsed in 1990. A dinner stop is made on the journey back to Melbourne-dinner purchase at own expense. Then you will enjoy a stunning view of the illuminated city as we cross the Westgate Bridge again on the way home.

Day 4: Melbourne – Hamilton Island

Day 5: Great Barrier Reef Adventure

Breakfast at the hotel. Proceed to enjoy a full day Great Barrier Reef Adventure Tour. Overnight at the hotel

The Great Barrier Reef is truly one of the great wonders of the natural world and a 'MUST DO' for anyone visiting the Whitsundays. On this excursion you'll cruise to Reefworld pontoon on the Great Barrier Reef. Reefworld allows guests to appreciate the Great Barrier Reef with a range of activities both in and out of the water.

Cruise onboard one of our high speed, luxury vessels through the Whitsunday Island National Park. Pass by islands, secluded bays and isolated beaches enroute to Reefworld on the outer Great Barrier Reef. You might even see our friendly turtle mascot on the way.

Reefworld has a choice of spaces to relax in and a large range of activities on offer. It has undercover seating and tables, sun decks to top up your tan, freshwater showers and change rooms. You will also have full access to the air-conditioned comfort of the vessel tied up to the pontoon during your visit.

Reefworld is adjacent to a coral wall in protected bays where you can explore the length and depth of the reef life in the area. The prolific fish life will surprise and delight you - especially the giant grouper! Fully immerse yourself by snorkeling, diving (optional add on, charges apply) and swimming with the thousands of fish. All the gear you need for snorkelling is provided including sterilised mouthpieces for the snorkels. If you haven't snorkelled before no problem - our staff will provide the basic tuition. Flotation devices are available as well as wet suits.

If you don't want to get wet, take our 'Subsea Adventure', complete with an entertaining and informative commentary by our Marine Experts. And don't miss our fantastic Underwater Observatory with its panoramic views.

All this sea air makes you hungry! Throughout the day you can curb your hunger with morning and afternoon tea and a sumptuous buffet lunch prepared by our onboard chef. Free tea and coffee is available onboard. There is also a bar selling a full range of alcoholic and soft drinks, ice creams and confectionery. Purchases from the bar cost extra.

Includes morning and afternoon tea, all you can eat buffet lunch, snorkelling gear, semi-submersible, underwater viewing chamber, activities for the kids, presentations by reef experts and free wetsuit usage.

What to bring: Please bring swimwear, towel, protective clothing, hat, sunscreen lotion and a light jacket or sweater during the cooler months. You may also wish to bring money / credit card for any optional purchases. Don't forget to bring your camera.

Enjoy an evening rainforest walk to see thousands of fascinating glow worms which make their home in a cove featuring a spectacular cascading waterfall. Local eco-guides lead personalised groups of 10 people through the park to discover the secrets of this beautiful World Heritage listed site. Be enthralled with the history, culture and lifestyle of the traditional land owners and their interaction with this special place.
